Summary of these terms
The main points in plain language. The full terms below govern.
- A call-in referral serviceCalling the number on this Site connects your own call to an independent local drain-cleaning contractor, who speaks with you on that call. We do not clean drains or do plumbing work.
- Your agreement is with the contractorScope, timing, permits, payment and every other term of any work are agreed directly between you and the contractor.
- Information, not adviceThe guides are general information. Decisions about your property should rest on a qualified professional's inspection.
- No follow-up contactWe do not call, text or email you, and we do not pass your details on so that others can contact you later.
1. Accepting these terms
The website draincleaningcolumbus.com (the "Site") is operated by Drain Cleaning Columbus ("we", "us" or "our"). By using the Site or calling a phone number shown on it, you accept these Terms of Service and our privacy policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site.
2. The referral service
The Site provides general information about drains and sewer lines in and around Columbus, Ohio, and a phone number you can call. Your call is connected to an independent contractor who accepts work in your area, and you talk with that contractor on the same call.
Contractors are independent businesses. They are not our employees, agents, partners or joint venturers, and we do not direct or supervise their work. We do not promise that a contractor will be available at a particular time, for a particular address or for a particular type of job, including urgent or after-hours work, and coverage can change without notice.
We may be compensated in connection with calls. You are never obliged to hire any contractor.
3. Your agreement with a contractor
Any estimate, scope of work, schedule, payment, warranty or other term is agreed solely between you and the contractor. We are not a party to that agreement and are not responsible for the contractor's work, conduct, licensing, insurance, permits or compliance with law.
Before work begins, confirm the contractor's business name and ask about licensing. Ohio plumbing contractor licences can be checked through the State of Ohio's licence lookup at license.ohio.gov, and work needing a City of Columbus plumbing permit must be done by a contractor registered with the city. Westerville and Hilliard have their own building departments.
4. Information on the Site
Content on the Site, including guides, area pages and descriptions of local programs, is general information prepared with care from public sources. It may be incomplete or out of date and is not professional, engineering or legal advice. City programs, codes and contacts can change; confirm them with the relevant authority.
5. Safety and emergencies
If you smell gas, leave the building and call 911 and your gas utility from outside. If sewage or water poses a risk to health or electrical safety, keep people away and stop using water. Basement sewer backups inside Columbus can be reported to the city sewer maintenance line at 614-645-7102. The Site is not an emergency service, and calling the Site number does not guarantee that anyone will attend.
6. Calls: a call-in service only
This is a call-in service. You choose to call, and your call is connected to a contractor who speaks with you on that call. By calling you agree that the call may be recorded and monitored for quality, training and dispute purposes, and you will be told when a call is recorded.
Calling does not give permission for us, or anyone we work with, to contact you afterwards by phone, text message or email, or to send you marketing, and we do not do so. We do not collect your details through forms. Anything arranged for after the call is agreed directly between you and the contractor during the call.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site or the phone number for any unlawful, fraudulent or harassing purpose
- Place calls that impersonate someone else or give false information to waste a contractor's time
- Copy, scrape or republish Site content in bulk without written permission
- Interfere with the Site's operation or security, or try to access systems you are not authorized to use
8. Intellectual property
The Site's text, design, logo and images belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Images on the Site are AI-generated depictions of typical drain work, not photographs of specific jobs.
9. Links to other sites
The Site links to third-party websites, including government pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and the referral service are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is provided without any warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free or that any contractor will meet your expectations.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss or damage arising from work performed or not performed by a contractor, from property damage, or from reliance on Site content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses arising from your misuse of the Site, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with a contractor, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Franklin County, Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence gives you a right to bring a claim elsewhere.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the effective date above shows the current version, and continued use of the Site means you accept the updated terms. Questions can be raised by calling the number shown on the Site. These terms are provided for transparency and are not legal advice; have them reviewed by your own counsel if needed.
