Accessibility statement

Drain Cleaning Columbus wants everyone to be able to read this site and reach a contractor by phone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion settings. Effective date: November 6, 2026.

Our goal

The site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That standard covers things like text contrast, keyboard access, clear headings, alternative text for images and content that works when zoomed. Meeting it is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time box to tick, and this statement will be updated as the site changes.

Features built into the site

  • A skip link at the top of every page that jumps straight to the main content
  • One H1 per page and a logical heading order, so screen reader users can scan by heading
  • Descriptive alternative text on every content image, describing only what is visible
  • Colour combinations checked for contrast during each build
  • All menus, links and buttons usable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
  • Animations, including the moving call button, switched off when your device asks for reduced motion
  • Layouts that reflow on small screens and at high zoom without sideways scrolling
  • Tables with captions and column headers so their meaning is clear when read aloud

Using the site with assistive technology

Pages are built as static HTML with standard landmarks: a header with the main navigation, a main region for the page content and a footer with the site links. Screen reader users can move between these landmarks directly. The service, area and guide menus open on keyboard activation and close with the Escape key, and focus returns to the menu button when they close.

The call button that stays on screen is a normal link with an accessible name, so assistive technology announces it as a call link rather than as an unlabeled icon. When no phone number is available yet, the button leads to the contact page instead of a broken link.

Text can be enlarged with your browser's zoom up to at least 200 percent without content being cut off. The site does not disable pinch zoom on phones, and it does not rely on colour alone to show meaning; links in body text are underlined and section labels are written out in words.

Images and media

Images on this site are AI-generated scenes of typical drain work. Each content image has alternative text that describes what is visible in it, and decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers. The site does not autoplay sound. If a page ever includes moving imagery, it stays still when your device requests reduced motion.

Known limitations

Some source links at the bottom of pages lead to external websites and PDF documents, such as City of Columbus program pages and state code pages. We do not control those documents and they may not meet the same standard. If you cannot read a linked source, call and we will describe what it says in plain language.

The site is call-in only. If using the phone is difficult for you, for example because you are deaf or hard of hearing, you can place the call through a relay service such as 711 in Ohio, which lets you communicate by text with an operator who voices the conversation.

Phone calls are the main way to use this service, so the call buttons are built as ordinary links that screen readers announce with their purpose, and the sticky mobile call bar can be reached by keyboard. If you are Deaf or hard of hearing, a relay service such as 711 can place the call for you, and the contractor you reach can continue the conversation that way. The independent contractors who answer calls run their own businesses, so their websites, paperwork and scheduling tools are outside the scope of this statement.

Reporting a barrier

If any part of this site is hard to use, please tell us. Call the number shown on the site, say that you are reporting an accessibility problem, and describe the page and what went wrong. We review every report and aim to fix confirmed problems promptly, or to provide the information in another way in the meantime.

This statement was prepared on November 6, 2026 based on a self-review of the site. It is not a certification and not legal advice.
